Sheep in a Jeep by Margot Apple, Nancy Shaw
Though this one was around in my youth I don’t think I ever experienced it. I don’t know where to start! The rhyming, the rhythm, the illustrations, the mischief… it’s all so enchanting and timeless. The words just itch to be read aloud and chanted and repeated over and over again. Each sheep has a personality from the driver with his hat to the knitter to the one with the snacks or the one with the bell and put them all in a jeep and you are in for a ride. They experience engine trouble and get stuck in the mud and in the end the jeep is more than worse for the wear but these trouble making sheep even find a clever solution for that.
