The Wish List by Eoin Colfer
Format: Hardcover
Goodreads
Meg Finn is anything but your normal fourteen year old. She has a terrible step father, an impressive juvenile record and she is dead. Belch is about the dumbest criminal she could have gotten mixed up with, which wouldn’t be so bad except he is also mean. Meg starts out a robber and ends up trying to save Lowrie McCall, the old man they came to rob. This change of heart is what gives her an incredibly unique situation, her good and evil tallies are exactly equal. So she is sent back as a ghost to redeem herself by helping Lowrie McCall, who two years have passed for and now he only has six months left to live. Lowrie comes up with his wish list of things he wants to do before he dies and it is Meg’s mission to help him. However Satan had his eye on Meg and he sends Belch back to throw a wrench in things. The adventure is filled with tender moments and though most of the bad guys and good guys are clear cut Meg leaves you wondering, what makes a bad kid?
