The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan
Series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians #3

The conflict between the gods and the titans is escalating. The campers are trying to find and recruit new halfbloods. We meet many more new characters in this entry. One of those we know best is taken prisoner and Percy must work together with his new friends. I love the introduction of Artemis, even though her appearance is limited. The concept of her hunters is super interesting to me. This is also when the group first begins to suffer losses. In the previous book Percy journeyed across his father’s territory, but here he travels across the country, which would be much easier by plane but he still fears Zeus’s wrath. I think this is my favorite possibly because there are very happy moments that make you laugh, but there is also sorrow. You are used to being able to fix more in this universe than should be fixable. I think my favorite moment in this novel is actually from Annabeth’s father. It is wonderfully unexpected.
