The Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer
This is not a book I would usually have picked up, it was given to me, but sometimes it is good to leave your comfort zone. Cain killed his brother Abel and murder was born. Mitchell Siegel was shot and killed in a robbery and his son Jerry created the bullet proof man, Superman. Meltzer creates an intricate bridge that combines these two mysteries with the story of Cal, a former agent, and his father Lloyd, an ex-con. Even for someone like Cal practiced at trusting no one these situations push it to an extreme. Death is never very far behind in this fantastic plot. Though one thing that truly impressed me was there is more to this book than just the instant thrill. When the secret is finally discovered it leaves you thinking.
