Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

Top Ten

A meme from the Broke and the Bookish.

Today’s topic: Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show (set in a perfect world…in which movies don’t butcher the books we love.)

Movies

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater – I can totally picture this as a film. It’s so perfectly stand alone. It is beautiful and unique. There is that little bit of romantic tension that I’m sure they would bump up and the fair would be fabulous.

Gemma Doyle series by Libba Bray – I need to reread these. I don’t remember them that well. I do remember thinking they should be movies, not a TV show though, the story is structured wrong.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – This book is so visual. If there is any book I have ever read that NEEDED to be filmed, this is it. Even if they screwed it up I would still want to see it.

Princess Academy by Gail Carson Levine – There is a sequel and it might be movie worthy too but I haven’t read it yet. I can just picture this in movie version being something that little girls would watch over and over.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley – Talk about a movie that would sell tickets and redeem vampires. I visualized this book more than most. It would be a movie full of contrasts.

 TV

The Belgariad by David Eddings – When Game of Thrones succeeded these books were my first thought.

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede – They would be on ABC I think. Cute and funny and family friendly. Parents and kids would love it.

Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust – This would be difficult because you would want it chronological but the series isn’t written so and it’s not all out yet but it would be awesome.

Greywalker series by Kat Richardson – I had high hopes for the Dresden files but I think this series would be way more successful.

The Protector of the Small series by Tamora Pierce – I would love to see Tamora’s world fleshed out and I think this series would work best because of the time frames.
