Goodreads

Annuals are always interesting, a glimpse of another side. You may remember me mentioning before that a brief chide from General Organa makes me giggle… well this issue is gold for watching Organa try to herd Poe Dameron. Poe will never be a follow orders soldier, but he could do with a little less recklessness. I always feel, but I think this issue particularly demonstrates that Poe is the spiritual successor of the reckless guts of Luke and Han. Sure he can fly, but I think it is how he flies and how he faces danger that is even more significant. Also much like Luke, boy would he be in trouble without his astromech. The art style is a little strange when you’ve gotten used to a certain look for Poe, but I love some of the things they do with Poe’s hair in this issue. I realize that is a really strange thing to say, but I feel like his hair is an important character point. This issue does actually tie into the main timeline, and it was printed between issues 15 and 16.
